Kilohana Farms Gardens (KFG) is a vibrant, sustainable gardening community where members grow their own food and contribute to a culture of shared responsibility, learning, and care for the environment.
Kilohana Farms Gardens (KFG) welcomes San Antonio residents to become part of a vibrant, sustainable gardening community. Members gain access to garden plots and join a shared mission of stewardship, growth, and collaboration.
Membership & Plot Commitment
Gardeners are required to tend their plots regularly — at least once per week — to keep them healthy, weed-free, and in good repair. Leafy greens tend to require less maintenance than crops like beans, but all plots need consistent attention to thrive.
  • Membership Fee: $4,000 per plot / per month
Getting Started
When plots become available, we invite individuals from our waitlist to attend a New Gardener Orientation. This session includes:
  • A walkthrough of our Guidelines and Regulations
  • A tour of common areas and available plots
  • Plot selection in order of waitlist priority
  • Please note that more individuals may be invited than available plots to account for no-shows. If no suitable plot is available, applicants can choose to stay on the waitlist for the next round.
Garden Standards & Expectations
All members are required to maintain their plots in compliance with Kilohana Farms’ official Guidelines, which include:
  • General garden care and cleanliness
  • Approved structures and furnishings
  • Planting restrictions
  • Composting and waste disposal policies
  • Failure to uphold these standards may lead to the loss of membership.
Community Participation Days (CPDs)
Throughout the season, we host Community Participation Days, where members and volunteers work side-by-side on shared projects such as:
  • Turning compost
  • Building gates, fences, and raised beds
  • Mulching, weeding, and general site maintenance
  • These events foster learning, collaboration, and a deeper connection to the land and each other.
